Netflix’s ‘Tiger King’ Director Teases Sequel: “There Are A lot of Questions That People Would Like Answered”

Netflix’s Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem & Madness has been the talk of the town the last week. But according to co-director, Eric Goode, if a sequel comes to fruition, it shouldn’t be a “Hollywood film version,” Page Six reports.

“I felt the documentary series really says it all,” Goode said in an interview with Page Six. “It’d be really hard to reenact in a way that would do justice to the story. Sometimes dramatization makes a story better; in this case, I’m not sure that it would.”

While a sequel isn’t in the works yet, Goode revealed that there is footage in the vault to get started on the production.

“There are a lot of questions that people would like answered, and we will see if we can answer those. We do have a ton of footage,” he explained. “We did film [more] after we locked picture. We did film the sentencing [of Joe Exotic] and John [Finlay] with his new teeth.”

Goode revealed the extra footage happened due to “tight” deadlines to turn the final version into Netflix.

Whether or not Netflix and Goode do a sequel for the film, another version of the same story is in the works, Page Six reports.

SNL star Kate McKinnon signed onto a production titled, “Joe Exotic,” last year, which will tell the same story, based on a Wondery podcast. Not only is McKinnon set to star in the UCP production, but she is executive producing the project as well.
