If you love old school R&B, you’re probably familiar with TGT, the trio comprised of Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank. Despite having only dropped one album, things only went downhill when the group dismantled. Now, the beef between Tyrese and Tank continues.
In 2017, Tyrese went on Breakfast Club to explain how Ginuwine wanted an equal split of the money from their music. But he also went on about how he feels he deserves a bigger cut. This lead to an angry Ginuwine posting the clip to his Instagram calling on Tyrese for his foolery. While Tank tried to calm him down, he posted his own thoughts to social media: “TGT is no more because @tyrese feels he’s better than me and a G! Doesn’t have more hits, hasn’t sold more records but somehow he’s better…smh. We can’t even get to the second album before N—– start with all this David Ruffin shit.”
In a recent interview with Rolling Out, the interviewer asked Tank if he could pick one person to battle, who would it be? Tank had just called out Tyrese. Tank states, “Listen, he’s telling me ‘get on here man!’ Listen, I ain’t gon play no instruments, I don’t gon’ cheat. I ain’t gon’ sing. I’m not going to take off my shirt, I’m going to keep my shirt on!”

Tyrese then hops on his own Instagram and posts a lengthy IG TV video to his 12.4 million followers, with the caption “the side eye.” He begins by enlightening his fans, stating how we need to be thanking God every day. He stated, “In one breath, we’re asking God to protect us. My prayers have always been ‘Father God, I love you and I trust you. Please protect me from all people, things, and situations that no longer serve me.’ Think about that.”
Timing-wise, this was posted right after Tank called him out online. Tyrese then goes on to drag rappers who have to make payments on their Lamborghinis and Rolls Royce, the same ones who are online trolling. It’s clear he’s calling out Tank.
He continues “run yo race! Do you.” He then dives deep into the importance of having a marital therapist to help him and his wife in his marriage. He also reminds audiences that we should not be having sex because of Coronavirus. “Try your best to workout and self-medicate in any capacity you can,” he encouraged.
