Rapper YNW Melly is begging to be released from prison as he says he is dying from COVID-19.
TMZ obtained official documents filed Monday by Melly’s lawyer Bradley Cohen, which claims that the rapper tested positive for coronavirus and has since been suffering from severe chills, heavy, labored breathing, headaches, and body aches while awaiting his murder trial.

The rapper is currently in a Florida prison as he was arrested and charged for the double murder of two of his friends: Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams and Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr.
In addition to claiming that Melly has been locked in a cell with another inmate who is carrying the virus, Cohen says medical personnel has not monitored the rapper every hour as they are supposed to. He also goes on to claim that “they have not given them masks, or cleaning supplies that would be beneficial regarding his recovery. This is against all recommendations of the Surgeon General and CDC.”

At his own expense, Melly has asked the judge if he can be placed on house arrest and receive treatment at a medical facility. Melly’s official IG also revealed the rapper filed a motion for “restricted release” last week.
