NFL quarterback Brett Hundley is being sued by his ex-wife for battery, according to The Blast.
The documents acquired by the outlet reveal a woman, identified under the Alias Jane Doe, is suing the Arizona Cardinals star for battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, domestic violence, and negligence.
Doe claims she first met Hundley in 2011, as undergrad students at the University of California.
From there, the two got into a serious relationship in late 2013, engaged in July 2015, and married one year later.
According to the lawsuit, Doe filed for divorce in November 2018, stemming from a domestic violence incident that occurred during the relationship.
Doe detailed the incident and claimed the two got into an argument that turned physical. She said that when she tried to go upstairs to end the verbal banter, he followed her and hit her with a cylindrical paper stick. As the night went on, Doe said he proceeded to grab her, shake her and throw her around the bedroom. Hundley then allegedly threw Doe on the bed and choked her.
Doe claimed Hundley didn’t stop until she began to explain to him that she couldn’t breathe.
She also revealed in the lawsuit that the incident caused her to suffer severe mental trauma and a fractured ankle.
In addition to abuse allegations, the woman also claimed that after a weekend out in Vegas for a Bachelor’s party in July 2016, Hundley possibly returned home with an STD.
Doe pointed out in the lawsuit that for the duration of their relationship, she regularly got tested and received negative results. But in January 2017, she tested positive for chlamydia as well as Hundley, who admitted to his then-wife that he may have infected her with the disease.
Several months after, the plaintiff and defendant got into an argument over the STD, which eventually led to physical abuse.
“[Hundley] grabbed the Plaintiff, threw her onto a pool table, and repeatedly shoved her body against his pool table,” the lawsuit revealed.
The outlet reports that Doe is suing for unspecified damages.
