Beyoncé’s #BeyGood foundation has donated $6 million to COVID-19 relief for mental health services.
Beyoncé and her foundation BeyGOOD have teamed up with Twitter CEO #JackDorsey’s #startsmall to help financially support mental health facilities and services through a partnership with UCLA, according to Bossip. The key national partnership comes as a collaborative effort with the National Alliance in Mental Illness (NAMI), which is offering funding to several cities, including New York, Houston, New Orleans, and Detroit, according to the official press release.
“Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD recognizes the immense mental and personal health burdens being placed on essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. In our major cities, African-Americans comprise a disproportionate number of workers in these indispensable occupations, and they will need mental health support and personal wellness care, including testing and medical services, food supplies, and food deliveries, both during and after the crisis,” the release read.
There are currently 2,710,071 COVID-19 cases in the world, and many celebrities like Beyoncé have been working to fight the outbreak through donations and charity funds.
