According to Entertainment Tonight, Nickelodeon has announced a virtual edition to the Kids’ Choice Awards titled, ‘Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together.’ The show will premiere on Saturday, May 2, at 8 p.m. ET/PT with Victoria Justice leading the evening as the host.
Other expected celebrity appearances include Lil Nas X, Dwayne Johnson, Ellen DeGeneres, Tom Holland, Ariana Grande, BTS, Kristen Bell, Camila Cabello, Bill Fagerbakke, Josh Gad, Millie Bobby Brown, Shawn Mendes, Dove Cameron, David Dobrik, Tom Kenny, SSSniperWolf, the cast of Avengers: Endgame and more.
The annual awards ceremony was previously postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Nickelodeon has since moved forward on making it possible to broadcast the show virtually while practicing social distancing. Winners will be announced during the live broadcast after kids place millions of votes for their favorite movies, shows, celebrities, games, music, and more.
The family network announced ahead of the star-studded event that LeBron James is scheduled to be honored with the 2020 Generation Change Award. The well-deserved award celebrates James giving back to his community in a big way through his charity The LeBron James Family Foundation and other programs, which reflects his passion on making positive changes in the world.
There will also be fun segments throughout the broadcast, which includes JoJo Siwa discovering slime secretly placed in multiple areas of her home as well as fans getting an exclusive view of Nick’s Slime in Space voyage.
Asher Angel is also scheduled to perform his hit single, “All Day,” during the live broadcast.
The ‘Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together,’ will be supporting those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with the network donating $1 million to a nonprofit organization called No Kid Hungry. The organization helps millions of children and families affected by childhood hunger and poverty in the U.S.
