After Trump’s ridiculous claim that bleach or disinfectant products could cure coronavirus in a minute, New York’s Poison Control Center says a high number of calls over fears that someone injected household cleaners.
Thursday evening, between 9 p.m, the Poison Control Center managed 30 cases of disinfected exposure, according to a spokesman for the New York’s Health Department on Friday.
Out of the 30 cases, none required immediate hospital attention. Nine where possible Lysol injection, ten regarding bleach, and eleven regarding household cleaners, the spokesman added.
Thursday evening at a coronavirus briefing, Trump suggested injecting disinfectants like bleach could defeat the coronavirus.
”Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs so it’d be interesting to check that … It sounds interesting to me.”
Trump claimed his dangerous suggestion was a joke. “I said it sarcastically,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
