No charges have been filed yet but Denver Broncos defensive lineman, Antonio Smith, is currently under investigation for suspected child abuse dating as far back as 2010.
In November an accuser claimed there were multiple acts of child abuse. The case has since been moved from Colorado to Texas, where the incidents took place. The Fort Bend County District Attorney confirms the child abuse division is handling the case. He reports, “We’re trying to discern the truth from the untruthfulness of the claim to decide what charges, if any, will be filed.”
Antonio Smith played for the Houston Texans from 2009 to 2013. He then played one season with the Oakland Raiders before signing a one-year, $2 million contract with the Denver Broncos on April 2, 2015.
