Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports is adding Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo Ball to their list of high profiled athletes, according to ESPN’s, Jonathan Givony.
Lonzo is currently the starting point guard for the New Orleans Pelicans, but since the beginning of his career in NBA, the oldest Ball brother has changed his agent three times.
LaMelo, the youngest of the three, is currently rehabbing a foot injury, while still preparing for the 2020 NBA Draft. Meanwhile, LiAngelo plays in the NBA’s G-league for the Oklahoma City Blue.
”This was a family decision,” LaMelo’s agent, Jermaine Jackson told ESPN. “This is now an extended family. They put together a beautiful game plan with Jay-Z. The basketball game is about to change. They are going to create something totally new.”
”This is something that they are building from the ground up together,” Jackson told ESPN. “They are brothers and they love each other and that’s how they roll. It’s all love. They don’t separate from each other.”
Jackson will still hold LaMelo as a client, but Roc Nation’s President of Basketball, Raymond Brothers, will be the primary agent for the trio.
Under Jay-Z’s direction, Roc Nation expanded into the sports world in 2013. The agency currently represents NBA players Kyrie Irving, Spencer Dinwiddie and Danny Green.
Givony noted that LaMelo’s draft stock projects him to be selected number 1 overall in the upcoming draft.
