Democratic presidential hopeful, Joe Biden has broken his silence on allegations that he sexually assaulted former Senate aide, Tara Reade.
Biden’s appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Friday morning, where he denied the allegations.
”No, it is not true,” Biden said. “I’m saying unequivocally it never, never happened.”
Biden asked for the National Archives to release any records of Reade’s complaint she said she filed. ”If there was ever any such complaint, the record will be there,” Biden told Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski.
Biden added that when Reade first made her claim, he made it clear, ”it never happened.” He declined to address the motive behind Reade’s 27-year-old allegation but said he doesn’t understand it.
The former Vice President, also said that “women have a right to be heard,” adding that ”in the end in every case, the truth is what matters.”
When Brzezinski asked Biden what he would say to Reade if he had the chance to talk with her, Biden responded, ”This never ever happened. I don’t know what is motivating her. But it’s irrelevant. It never happened. It never happened. Period.”
Tara Reade claims Biden reached under her dress and fingered her back in 1993 when she worked in the Senate office.
