After seven seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and one Super Bowl championship under his belt, free agent Marshawn Lynch could be returning to the team later this year.
In a recent interview with SportsCenter, the running back revealed that a return to the Hawks was being “outlined” by his agent.
“Well, it’s almost on that ‘expect the unexpected,’ but just as far as right now, what I do know is: I’m going to keep it solid,” Lynch said Monday. “We’ll see what happens. If it works out and I get back up there, it is what it is. And if not, I’m looking good. So I ain’t really trippin’ too much.”
According to Lynch, his agent Doug Hendrickson is discussing contracts with the Franchise, USA Today reports.
Should he rejoin the team for the upcoming 2020-2021 season, it’s likely he’d be making $1.05 million in base salary due to veteran status.
Throughout his career, Lynch has secured a slew of accomplishments. He is a 5-time Pro-Bowl selection as well as a 1-time Super Bowl champion after helping lead Russell Wilson and the Hawks to victory in 2014.
Lynch also led the league in rushing in 2013 and 2014.
