During last weekend’s Verzuz battle between Ludacris and Nelly, Luda made headlines for another reason.
The Pimpin’ All Of The World rapper raised a few eyebrows when he gave disgraced entertainers Bill Cosby and R.Kelly a shoutout in an unreleased song.
“I love R. Kelly, but around my daughters, I’m not comfortable,” Ludacris rapped about R. Kelly.
He name-dropped Cosby as well.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“The world screwed if ni**as pouring drinks like Bill Huxtable,” the song continues.
Now in an interview with Big Tigger on the Big Tigger Show, Ludacris is explaining the lines in depth.
“Sometimes when you speak on records, you speakin’ like it’s just me and you having a conversation,” he explained.” I saw that a lot of people kind of misconstrued or just didn’t understand what I’m saying.”
As the conversation continued, Luda then asked Tigger what he thought the lyrics meant, to which Tigger explained, “You probably meant, ‘I love his music and what he brought to the table, but I’m a father of daughters and [he’s] not going to be around my daughters.'”
“You’re a smart man. It’s that simple,” Luda replied.
Ludacris still has plans on releasing the record, which features Lil Wayne soon, despite facing backlash.
“I’m looking to try and drop that at the end of this week, and then the #ChanceTheRapper song will be coming after that,” he said. “By the way, if people think the first verse of that song is explosive, we didn’t play the second verse, and I guarantee you, it’s gone, provoke a lot of conversation.”
