Kendall Jenner Settles Fyre Festival Lawsuit; Agrees To Pay $90,000

Kendall Jenner has agreed to pay $90,000 in order to settle the lawsuit for her involvement in the Fyre Festival scandal. The supermodel is only paying back a part of the original $275K that the event’s trustee Gregory Messer claims she was paid to promote the failed music festival back in 2017.

According to documents obtained by E! News, Jenner was paid to convince her followers into believing that the Fyre Festival “would be filled with famous models on an exotic private island with ‘first-class culinary experiences and a luxury atmosphere.'”

Other celebrities who were also hit with suits include Lil Yachty, Migos, Pusha T, Blink-182 Emily Ratajkowski, and more. Last August, Messer filed a complaint in New York’s U.S. Bankruptcy Court in an effort to recover the lost funds paid to talent agencies, performers, vendors, and other entities.

The lawsuit claimed the Kardashian/Jenner sister “did not indicate to the public that she was paid to promote the Festival,” and alleged that she along with other influencers, failed to “inform their fans and followers that they ultimately decided not to attend the Festival because of problems with the Festival of which they and their agencies were uniquely aware.”

Jenner denies any liability related to the suit but agreed to the settlement after mediation with Messer. The Festival’s founder, Billy McFarland, is currently serving his six-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of wire fraud. He was also ordered to pay back the $26 million he defrauded from investors.
