NYTimes Blasted For Inaccurate, Dangerous Headline Of Trump’s Speech

The New York times is receiving backlash for its headline regarding Trump’s Rose Garden speech in response to nationwide civil unrest.

“As Chaos Spreads, Trump Vows To ‘End It Now’” read the misleading headline, front and center on the draft of today’s paper. People immediately began blasting the headline for not being indicative of what happened or what was written in the article.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted out a photo of the cover and captioned it “You’ve got to be kidding me.”

Senator Brian Schatz tweeted, “The New York Times headline writers are going to Both Sides the country to death.”

Ilhan Omar called it “embarrassing.”

However, under pressure, the paper edited the headline to read: “Trump Threatens To Send Troops Into States.”

Yesterday, Trump declared himself “your president of law and order” and threatened to take military action against the United States’ own citizens as a mechanism to quell angry protesters who have been protesting the unjust death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department.

Instead of offering up calming and constructive words, Trump continued the same inflammatory rhetoric, referring to protesters as “domestic terrorists” and threatening states and cities that “he will solve the problem for them” if they do not take action.

In a twist of irony, Trump had peaceful protesters tear-gassed out of the way so he could walk to St. John’s Episcopal Church for a photo op.

“We have the greatest country in the world,” Trump said in front of the church while holding a bible.

Many have called for Trump to make a primetime speech to help calm the nation, but it does not appear that it will be coming anytime soon.

If the New York Times thinks this accurately describes what happened today, I have no idea what country they've been living in – they should just let Trump write their headlines. https://t.co/zZn7H5cZiC
