A viral video of a New York City park confrontation has people talking, and now both women involved have shared their versions of what happened. Baller Alert has not independently verified either account.
Svitlana, a restaurant co owner and socialite, spoke with Page Six after clips circulated online showing her calling police on Janae, who is Black. Svitlana told the outlet that the clips make her look racist and leave out what led up to the moment. She said the dispute started when she told Janae and a friend they could not smoke marijuana at the park, where she was visiting with her two children. Svitlana, who said she was pregnant at the time, claimed Janae stood up and got in her face. She also told Page Six that Janae cursed at her, which is why she called the cops.
Janae posted several clips from the encounter on Instagram on May 30. In her caption, she said Svitlana approached her and called police multiple times between 6:15 pm and 7:31 pm. She said the first call was because Svitlana thought she was smoking in public, and that by the third call Svitlana was describing her as a threat to Svitlana and her children. Janae also said several people nearby checked on her and saw what happened.
Svitlana responded by saying the full recording runs about 45 minutes and that Janae shared only parts of it. She called on Janae to post the entire video unedited. “She put her narrative on it to make me look like a racist,” Svitlana claimed.
Svitlana also told Page Six that she received threats the night of the confrontation, including a text message she showed to the outlet. A response from Janae to Svitlana’s claims was not available at the time of publication.

The video shows that Ms. Floms’ children’s bike is away from where Ms Garcia is sitting & shows Ms. Flom walking towards Ms. Garcia to actually sit across from her! So IF Ms Garcia was smoking – it’s a park… move away! AND where is this pregnant woman’s’ mask???
Apparently it’s a very tiny “park” and the smoking was not caught on camera. Sure I can see how she could have been provoked and the story twisted. Her mistake was giving her name and refusing to drop it with everything that’s going on.
Exactly, it’s a tiny park! So if she was really threatened or Ms. Garcia was smoking, Ms. Flom would have gone further away or even not leave her kids just happily playing with their scooters (which you could see in the background). For Pete’s sake, does it look like she and her kids was even in threat. She even stayed there for a long time, beside the alleged aggressor just calling 911. The icing on the cake was when she asked her alleged aggressor to walk to the police with her, OMG. Also more telling, her husband just left her there! Wow! Really, Ms. Flom, you are that obvious! But I would like to commend Ms. Garcia not only as a frontline worker but also for standing her ground. Just thankful, nothing serious happened to her in the end with the police.
