Diddy isn’t quite ready to tie the knot, but he’s opening to signing a love contract. The music mogul stopped by Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live where he explains it all to host Andy Cohen.
When asked if he would ever get married, Diddy answers, “I don’t know.” He explains, “It’s the whole thing of … I think you have to be ready for it. There’s somebody else’s heart involved and that’s a lot of responsibility. And I don’t want to be going to courts and having somebody be like interfere in my relationships so I rather just do the Goldie Hawn.”
If you’re not familiar with “the Goldie Hawn,” Goldie and her Kurt Russell have been dating for 32 years and never got married. “I will give a contract,” Diddy added. “I will commit to a contract — a love contract.”
As odd as it seems, I totally understand it. I would rather a person NEVER get married, than only get married simply because of their age or because society tells them they should. That’s how people end up taking matrimony for granted. If you’re not ready for marriage, don’t get married. It’s still possible to be committed without a wedding.
