According to Bossip, Kodak Black alleges that federal law enforcement violated his civil rights by reportedly leaking a photo of him in handcuffs to the press. Now he wants to sue.

Kodak reportedly filed a federal lawsuit from prison, alleging that the United States Marshals Service Chief Mark O’Loughlin tried to ruin his life and career by taking a photo of him in handcuffs. Black said the officers then unlawfully released the photo after he was detained at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami last year.

The rapper alleged that U.S. Marshal O’Loughlin told the Miami-Dade Police to take a picture that showed him wearing a blue velour tracksuit with a look of discomfort and his hands cuffed behind his back. The photo was then leaked to a reporter. Kodak said that the photo was not a mugshot and was not part of an investigation. He alleges it was done to publicly humiliate him, according to court documents obtained by Bossip. A little time after the photo was taken, it appeared on a local news twitter feed, the documents reportedly said.

The “ZeZe” rapper said that the picture violated his “constitutional rights to privacy,” and now he wants the US Marshals to pay for damages.

The government has not responded to the claims in the lawsuit.

The rapper is still incarcerated, serving a three-year sentence for “lying to obtain firearms as a felon.” He is appealing the sentence and has been public about the harsh treatment that he has received while being incarcerated.
