Vanderbilt’s wide receiver has decided to take his talent to an HBCU this fall.
C.J. Bolar has played for Vanderbilt for two seasons. During his freshman season, Bolar had eight starts for 34 receptions, which was ranked third on the team and tied for fourth all-time by Vanderbilt.
In 2019, Bolar had six starts at wide receiver with 11 receptions and 79 yards, including long catch of 18 yards.
According to WJTV, C.J. will be a highly targeted receiver at Alcorn State along with Felix Harper, SWAC Offensive Player of Year.
In an Instagram post, Bolar stated: “I am thankful for the amazing people I met at Vanderbilt University from my teammates, to the coaches, to the lifelong friends I made on campus. I cannot express how much I am grateful for them.”
He continued, “I’ve decided to spend the remainder of my collegiate career at Alcorn State University. I’m excited for what the future holds, and I can’t wait to be a part of this legendary program.”
With recent events that are taking place, we will definitely see more players leaving (Predominantly White Institutes) and headed to HBCUs.
