A Tulsa, Oklahoma man was arrested on Saturday after leaving his children in a locked truck for five hours.
Dustin Lee Dennis, 31, was arrested on two counts of second-degree murder after he left his two children in a locked truck for five hours after returning from a trip to a convenience store, Fox23 reported. The children did not survive.
After returning from the store, Dennis fell asleep for four to five hours and could not find the children when he woke up.
He located the children on the floorboard of his truck and moved them into the living room where they were pronounced dead by paramedics.
Police told the outlet that a neighbor had a video of Dennis locking his truck and going inside without the children.
“The children had not been checked on for nearly five hours during the time they were locked inside the vehicle,” according to the arrest report.
The two children, both under the age of five, were identified by family members as Teagan, 4, and Ryan, 3.
Dennis is currently in the Tulsa County jail with a $1 million bond.
