Over the weekend, seven people from Clark County, Oregon, were arrested for rioting after shooting illegal fireworks and yelling racial slurs at a black family.
Lincoln City Police responded to a call at the Inn at Spanish Head about a disturbance and learned that the group of white men harassed a black family at the inn. The group of men also used Nazi salutes towards the family.
As the police stepped in, the family was able to head back to their room. The police also noticed that people within the group of rioters were firing off large, illegal aerial fireworks.
The following men were arrested: Gennadiy Kachankov, 30; Antoliy Kachankov, 28; Andrey Zaytsev, 28; Oleg Saranchuk, 45; Ruslan Tkachenko, 22; and Yuriy Kachankov, 30. Another man who refused to give a name and had no ID was also arrested.
They were all charged with riot, interfering with police, disorderly conduct, harassment, possession of illegal fireworks, and offensive littering.
The seven men were later released.
