With most of the country still on some form of a shutdown, people are no longer waiting on the government to provide monetary assistance. Case in point, the Houston man who robbed the Woodforest National Bank on July 8.
Authorities say the suspect walked into the bank with his face concealed with a dark color bandana, approached the teller, and asked to make a withdrawal.
The man then handed the teller a folded up piece of notebook paper that read, “I didn’t get a stimulus or that 10k loan. I lost my business to COVID, so please make this easy and comply. I don’t wanna hurt nobody but will if I have to. Any suspicious moves and I will start shooting so, please go get my money. Don’t make anything noticeable!”
The teller also told the police that the suspect described as a Black male, between 30 and 39 years old, around 6 feet with a large build, made a verbal demand for cash.
No weapon was brandish or visible seen, but the teller said she feared for her life and safety and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect snatched the money with both hands and ran from the location. The suspect has yet to be apprehended, and there are no reports of a possible get-away vehicle leaving the scene.
