The next round of coronavirus relief will include the $1,200 stimulus checks everyone has been waiting for.
“There’s a $1,200 check coming, that’s going to be part of the new package,” White House economic advisor Larry Kudlow said Sunday in an interview with CNN.
He also said the Trump administration will lengthen the federal eviction moratorium in the relief bill worth $1trillion. The moratorium, which ended Friday, has protected renters from getting evicted over the last four months.
“The check is there; the reemployment bonus is there. The retention bonus is there,” Kudlow said. “There will be breaks, tax credits for small businesses, and restaurants.”
Republicans finalized the next relief bill, which will also provide an extension of unemployment benefits that gave an extra $600 a week since March. That ended this weekend with Democrats wanting to extend the aid. Republicans are expected to extend the unemployment money but reduce it to $400 a month or $100 a week, but it’s not clear when that will go into effect.
“It’s a very well rounded package,” Kudlow added. “It’s a very well targeted package.”
