An 18 year old in Pennsylvania is facing murder charges after the death of his ex girlfriend.
According to PEOPLE, Gilbert asked Morgan, 18, to meet him at the Meadowbrook Train Station in Abington Township on Monday morning to talk about their relationship. A release from the Montgomery County District Attorney and the Abington Township police chief says officers responded to the station around 8:15 a.m. and found Morgan unresponsive next to her running car. An autopsy ruled her death a homicide.
Authorities say Morgan had ended a yearlong relationship with Gilbert about a month earlier. According to an affidavit of probable cause, Gilbert’s mother called 911 when her son came home injured. Police went to the home around 10 a.m. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Gilbert admitted to the attack. His attorney’s response had not been reported at the time of this story.
Gilbert has been charged with first degree murder, third degree murder and possessing an instrument of crime. He is being held without bail at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. The charges are allegations, and he had not been convicted at the time of this report.
Morgan had recently graduated from Nazareth Academy High School and planned to attend Manor College. Her friends started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral costs, describing her as strong, courageous and loving.
