Producer JW Lucas Says He Should Lead BLM NOT Tamika Mallory After She Drags Him Over Breonna Taylor Tweets

Hip-hop producer JW Lucas, known for his work with DaBaby, Jack Harlow, Lil Uzi Vert, and more, is getting dragged to hell and back over his comments about the details of Breonna Taylor’s case.

“It is extremely racist for a white man to try to tell black people what we are doing where we are going what our issues are,” Tamika Mallory, prominent Black Lives Matter activist, told Lucas. The two discussed, or attempted to discuss Lucas’s controversial tweets.

Lucas yelled over Mallory during their Instagram live while she attempted to speak. “I should be a leader in the black lives matter movement because I’m more capable than you. I’m more capable. Yes, I am,” Lucas said. He repeatedly asked her if she knew the difference between competitive and cooperative game theory and claimed that her “separatist ideology” and “fear-based pandering” is one of the issues within the current movement. “Here’s what I’m gonna do,” Mallory repeated several times, while Lucas attempted to silence her.

“What’s the problem, Tamika?” he asked. “It’s time that all humans unify.” He then stated, “Tamika me, and you are the exact same thing.” He then began discussing the war on drugs in the black community and said, “All negative externalities must be eliminated,” speaking about cracking down on drug arrests; The leading offense that has kept black men and women behind bars, as opposed to their white counterparts, for similar charges.

“Here’s what we’re gonna do, we’re going to allow the people that you do business with to make a decision,” Tamika finally said. “About whether or not what you’re saying and the propaganda and the lies that you’re spreading is something that they should continue to support. So what I promise you is that you’re gonna have to deal with me for the rest of your life. Because anybody you do business with, I’m gonna show up to make sure that they know that you are a racist and that your rhetoric, and that the tone that you’re using is extremely dangerous, and that you disrespected the life of a young 26-year-old woman who is an essential worker,” she said of his criticism of Taylor.

“Never, I will not accept that. that’s bullsh*t.” He fired back. “That shows your colors. That’s bullsh*t. I’m out here fighting for black people every day of my life. You care about bettering your own political gain. You care about bettering yourself. You ain’t doing sh*t for the problem,” he told Mallory.

The tweet that initially sparked controversy on July 24 read, “Why is the world asking for justice for Breonna Taylor if course she shouldn’t have lost her life…. but do you realize that she was involved with multiple drug dealers who were using her house as a trap spot? If you sign up for that life, there are consequences.” In another, he wrote, “It is terrible Breonna lost her life, and as I said earlier, I believe the cops may have mishandled the raid and been too aggressive after being fired on. With that being said, what is the punishment the world Is calling for? Those men were on the job and have families as well.”

Lucas later apologized and retracted his original tweet due to “potential inaccuracies,” after being informed by Taylor’s sister that her house was not a “trap house.” He also deleted his Twitter and released another statement on Instagram.
