Navy SEALS Will No Longer Support National Navy SEAL Museum After Video Of Dogs Attacking Man Wearing A Colin Kaepernick Jersey

A recent video of a man wearing a Colin Kaepernick jersey while dogs attacked him at a 2019 fundraiser has surfaced the world wide web, drawing outrage and an investigation launched by the Navy.

According to Forbes, the Navy announced on Monday that they were investigating the incident that took place at the National Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce, Florida, a nonprofit organization not overseen by the military. Now, just days later, the Navy says they will suspend their support of the museum.

In the first video, a man is shown wearing a Colin Kapernick Jersey and is subsequently attacked by dogs. A second video shows dogs taking a man down, who later said, “Oh man, I will stand”- an apparent reference to Kaepernick’s NFL kneeling.

According to Forbes, the men shown in the clip are contracted employees from outside the Defense Department, but Rear Admiral Collin Green believes that information is “irrelevant.” In fact, he says that although the Navy SEALS “may not have contributed to the misperception,” they will “suffer” the consequences of the video and “will not allow it to continue,” the Associated Press reports.

The Navy noted that no active-duty personnel or equipment was used during the demonstration.

“Each and every one of us serves to protect our fellow Americans — ALL Americans. Even the perception that our commitment to serving the men and women of this nation is applied unevenly is destructive. We will revisit our relationship with the museum when I am convinced that they have made the necessary changes to ensure this type of behavior does not happen again,” Green said.

The video comes as many public institutions are speaking out against racism amid the Black Lives Matter protests taking place across America. Kaepernick, a former NFL quarterback and an icon for Black progression and advancement, began kneeling during the National Anthem in 2016, a move that drew widespread outrage and cost him his job. NOW, Four years later, Kaepernick is still a controversial token when brought up among conservatives who are vocal against his move, including Donald Trump.

Kaepernick continues to be an outspoken advocate on issues that continue to plague the Black community.

In another video, after “Navy SEALs and Navy SEAL dogs take down Colin Kaepernick for not standing during National Anthem,” he moans something like, "Oh man, I will stand” #BecauseFlorida https://t.co/uZ3ervZguB pic.twitter.com/6vi1uCGIt5
