Over the weekend, Georgia police fired several shots at five children after attempting to address a traffic violation.
The incident occurred in Waycross, Georgia, on Saturday morning. According to Fox 5, a Waycross police officer noticed a car at the intersection of Howe and Brunell Street around 8 a.m.
The officer followed as the car proceeded toward Walters and Greenwood Street. When the car came to a stop, three kids, ages 9, 12, and 14, got out and ran.
A second officer then stood in front of the vehicle and opened fire on a 15— and 16-year-old, who then exited the car while it was still in drive.
Police say the 15-year-old then got into an altercation with the officer before being arrested and treated for minor injuries.
According to Bossip, witnesses say the 15-year-old was pistol-whipped in the incident.
No officers were injured in the incident. However, this is the fourth officer-involved shooting in Georgia in the last 36 hours, Bossip reports.
The incident is under investigation.
