Since the tragic killing of Breonna Taylor, there has not been a day that someone hasn’t mentioned her name or the fact that the Louisville, Kentucky Metro police officers responsible for her death should be arrested.

Many have called on the state’s attorney general Daniel Cameron to make that happen. But after a meeting with Cameron on Wednesday, Taylor’s mother, Tamika Palmer, is hopeful justice will be served, despite the prolonged delay.

Taylor, a 26-year-old EMT, was killed on March 13, during a no-knock warrant raid as police were looking for a suspect who was already in custody.

During a press conference following the meeting, Palmer said the attorney general said he did not want to rush the investigation process because “he wants to have the right answer.”

“For me, I’m trying to accept that and be patient with that,” she added. It has been 150 days since her daughter was killed. “There definitely shouldn’t be another Breonna Taylor, anywhere,” she said, saying she was “grateful to the people saying her name” during protests across the country. “At this point, it’s bigger than Breonna; it’s bigger than just black lives. It’s about bridging the gaps between us and the police,” she said.

On another note, Taylor’s family said they still did not have much cooperation from the authorities. They are still waiting on ballistic reports, among other things.

According to the New York Post, attorney Lonita Baker said Cameron did not offer a timeline for the probe. “We’re not going to wait forever. We do want to resolve this quickly and accurately so that Ms. Palmer and her family can get some answers,” she said.
Meanwhile, Civil Rights attorney Ben Crump blasted the police for initially keeping the investigation in-house, saying they hoped to “justify the justifiable” in the execution of Breonna Taylor.

“I absolutely expect there to be charges based on the evidence,” Crump said as he stood alongside Palmer.
