Imagine a man telling the world he was hypnotized into marrying you. Well, Stacey Dash’s husband is saying just that. And he wants the judge to annul it.
But he’s not alone, besides the hypnotism part, Dash would like the marriage off the record as well, TMZ reports.
Apparently, Jeffrey Marty, who is an attorney, filed new court documents in response to Dash’s divorce petition, alleging he only said “I do” because he was in a spiritual trance.
According to him, his soon to be ex-wife’s pastor put some kind of serious religious pressure on him ten days before the two married on April 6, 2018. He claims her pastor “unexpectedly and suddenly proclaimed that it was God’s will” that they get hitched.
Although he didn’t detail the technique or how he was “programmed” into marrying Dash, he claims because of the “hypnotic prayer techniques, “he did not have the ability to consent to the marriage.
Alongside the pastor were other clergy members also pressuring him to tie the knot.
Stacey and her legal team didn’t fully admit to Marty’s “hypnosis” claims but did say he didn’t show any unusual signs on the day of the wedding. Dash isn’t trying to put up a fight. She also wants the judge to annul the marriage ASAP.
