There’s a new revelation in the bizarre case of Tim Norman, the Sweetie Pies star, who is accused of hiring someone to kill his nephew Andre Montgomery.

According to Bossip, prosecutors have presented a different motive, Detective Donald Thurmond took the stand Wednesday and said Montgomery was a suspect in the theft of $200,000 in cash from the home of his grandmother Robbie Montgomery, mother of Tim Norman and owner of the legendary St. Louis restaurant Sweetie Pies.

Originally authorities arrested Norman on federal charges alleging that he conspired to kill his nephew by using an interstate commerce facility (cellphone) in the commission of a plot to hire someone to murder Montgomery. They also accused him of hiring Terica Ellis, an exotic dancer of Memphis, Tennessee. The initial motive pinned on Norman was that he wanted to reap the $450,000 life insurance policy placed on his nephew.

Ellis reportedly told investigators that she knew the theft of the $200k made Norman’s “boys” want to “get up on” Andre, the St. Louis Today news reported.

During Wednesday’s hearing, which was scheduled for Ellis, Detective Thurmond also told the court that Norman had offered Ellis $10,000 to “secure the location” of his nephew the night he was killed.

A third man was also arrested in connection with Andre’s murder; life insurance agent, Waiel “Wally” Yaghnam. Authorities charged Yaghnam, a former producer on rapper Nelly’s “Nellyville” album with one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud for allegedly forging information about Tim Norman’s income.

Norman was involved in a money scandal back in 2017, his mother, Ms. Robbie, sued him for $100 million claiming trademark infringement after Norman used the name for three of his restaurants in the St. Louis area and California.
