Violence erupted at the Citgo gas station last Tuesday in Winter Park when an elderly man asked another customer to please wear his mask.
A 70-year-old man was apparently dragged out of the store by his hair, according to a video obtained by police.
Mohamed Tutul, a worker at Citgo and a witness, told reporters that both men are regulars at the gas station. But the two began arguing inside, at the counter.
“He mad. He tells me, ‘I come in here every day. Why are you telling me 6 feet,’” Tutul recalled suspect, Rovester Ingram saying.
Ingram began beating the victim upon his re-entry into the store and then continued until he exited again.
“The victim was on his stomach as Ingram repeatedly punched him on his back, then spat on him and kicked him in the head before walking away,” police said.
Tutul was quick to call the police.
The victim was taken to the hospital to treat a number of injuries, including broken bones.
Ingram has been arrested by police, and charged with kidnapping/inflicting bodily harm as well as aggravated battery,
