Shia LaBeouf has been charged with petty theft and battery over an incident that happened back in June.
TMZ reports the Los Angeles City Attorney charged LaBeouf earlier this month with misdemeanor crimes after the actor got into a “verbal altercation” with another man in Los Angeles back in June. The report states that the incident “turned physical,” and that LeBeouf left the scene with the man’s hat after taking it off his head, Bossip reports.
No major injuries were sustained between the two men. However, the man still filed a police report, which, in turn, prompted an investigation into the incident. LaBeouf’s reps have yet to make a public statement about the scuffle.
LaBeouf is not one who has shied away from the eyes of law enforcement. In 2017, LaBeouf was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct, which he said was a reaction to his PTSD issues. LaBeouf has been very vocal about struggling with his condition and greatly details a ot of his childhood trauma in his autobiographical film “Honey Boy.” LaBeouf previously discussed how he almost quit acting to join the Peace Corps.
“I thought the acting thing was over and then I signed up to go to the Peace Corps and then went into this rehab facility, was there for two months, had written this thing, plans changed. So when I got out, I wasn’t gonna do the Peace Corps no more. So we had a little conversation about it, they were very peaceful about it … It’s not like the navy or something like that,” he said
