Dallas Mavericks’ team owner Mark Cuban has had it with Ted Cruz’s disparaging remarks about the NBA.
On Tuesday, after the Texas Republican Senator took to Twitter to mock the NBA, claiming its low ratings were due in part to the league’s support of Black Lives Matter, Cuban called him out for “rooting” for a business that employs citizens within his state, to fail.
“Not surprising,” Cruz said, as he retweeted a Hannity article about the NBA’s game three ratings. “Personally speaking, this is the first time in years that I haven’t watched a single game in the NBA Finals. #GoWokeGoBroke.”
In response, Cuban said, “A US Senator with 3 NBA teams in his state, employing thousands of people and he is rooting for their business to do poorly.”
“This is who you are #TedCruz,” Cuban added. “Every minute of your life, this is exactly who you are.”

However, the twitter beef didn’t end there.
Cruz then tried to plead his case by claiming his support for the Houston Rockets. However, he still blamed the low ratings on the league’s desire to support social and racial equality.
“I love Houston Rockets & have rooted for them my entire life. I happily cheer for the Spurs & Mavericks against any non-TX team,” Cruz said. “But Mark, the NBA is engaged in a concerted effort to (1) insult their fans & (2) turn every game Into a left-wing political lecture. That’s dumb.”
But Cuban didn’t back down, saying, “You are so full of shit.”
“You haven’t watched a game of the finals, how would you know what is being said or done?” Cuban continued. “Since when is a desire to end racism an insult to anyone or political? And you don’t think using #GetWokeGoBroke is a partisan insult? Again, this is who you are.”
Cruz then fired back with an insult over the league’s Hong Kong controversy involving Rockets general manager, Daryl Morey.
“I wish Mark Cuban loved his fans as much as he loves Chinese money,” Cruz said, to which Cuban responded, “Shame on me for putting American Civil Rights and Justice, creating jobs, growing our economy and healthcare reform over twitter proclamation.”
