After making headlines for allegedly moving his girlfriend into the home, he shared with his wife, B. Smith, who was under his care at the time, Dan Gasby, is reportedly single again.
Last year, the thought of the late legendary model/restaurateur’s husband Gasby seemingly moving his girlfriend into their home sent social media into a frenzy. However, according to Dan, his mistress Alex Lerner did not stay with him and B. Smith; she just would visit. There wasn’t even an issue with it, considering that B. Smith, who had Alzheimer’s, was “friendly” with her.
But now it seems as though Mr. Gasby is back on the market after being left high and dry by that same woman.
During a guest appearance on Jean Shafiroff’s Successful Philanthropy, Gasby revealed that Alex broke up with him shortly after B. Smith’s passing in February.
“She took off, and you know, whatever. I wish her well. Life has a way of–whatever you deserve you’ll ultimately get, and that’s fine,” he said.
“She never lived there. That was an angry woman–there was a room where she could stay and put stuff if she wanted to put stuff,” he said, as he clarified rumors about Lerner living with him in B. Smith’s home.
” But the press and because of the racial situation, the press and certain people had a field day with that. My wife dated white men, Asian men. I dated white, Black, whatever. Some people are not comfortable with that. But Alex Learner never lived at my house. She was there on weekends, twice a month. And I’d go into town and stay at her place on occasion,” he said.
Although he refers to her as an angry woman, Dan says that Alex never mistreated B. Smith. In fact, he said she was kind.
“She was very kind to B. when she was there. B. was lovely, even through Alzheimer’s,” he recalled. “Me and my daughter still laugh at it, they have a tendency–some people are really violent or really mean. When she got mad, she would just make up words because she couldn’t figure out how to say curse words. And we would just laugh. And she would start laughing.”

Hi. It was confusingly worded, but the “angry woman” he was referring to wasn’t Alex, but someone he claims put out the word/rumor that Alex was living in the house with him. (He says she never lived there.)
