The New York Giants Vs. Los Angeles Rams game went viral last week when wide receiver Golden Tate and cornerback Jalen Ramsey swung fist of firing fury at each other midfield. The two players have been in a very public family feud over the past year, however, the fight came as a surprise.

The NFL has done an extensive job of keeping the video footage out of the hands of the media. “All I can say is what I got from a number of our players was that, there’s a history between them. There was a punch thrown. Golden defended himself. I was told he wasn’t the one who threw the first punch. Everybody involved was trying to break it up. I can say both our players and the Rams’ staff and players, from what I saw with my own eyes, were all just trying to break it up,” NY Giants coach Joe Judge stated when asked about the incident.

It is not clear exactly what started the brawl. The tension between the two players was displayed on the field on multiple occasions during Sunday’s game. Ramsey who threw the first punch shares two children with Tate’s sister Breanna.

Tate who will not be receiving any disciplinary actions appeared on a video interview Thursday with no bruises. “I had my helmet on,” Tate stated while laughing after the interview stated that he must have won the fight due to the lack of bruises on his face. He also touched base on his conversation with his coach Joe Judge. “When I talked to Judge after he took my word and that was it,” Tate stated unapologetically.

While the interviewer continuously asked questions about the fight Tate was persistent on focusing on Sunday’s game. “It’s Dallas week, I don’t want to backpedal and discuss that because I don’t think going back is going to help us this week, I don’t want to draw any more attention or put any highlights out there that don’t have anything to do with Dallas. I want to keep moving forward and get a win this Sunday” Tate said.
