A mother works to provide for her kids, and every day that is exactly what Tegina Brown left home to do. But, this past Tuesday was different and will be one she will never forget. When Brown returned home Tuesday, she found her daughter stabbed to death.
Alazia “Ally” Johnson, 9, was home at the Peterson Apartments in Tifton, GA., on Tuesday when an attacker stabbed her to death.
“I just came home and found my baby,” Brown told WALB-TV.
Georgia investigators arrested 18-year-old Semaj Moss in the fatal stabbing of Johnson. He is facing charges for malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault. Lowndes County deputies picked up the Tifton man.
Tifton Police are working with investigators to figure out what and why this happened to Alazia. Police offered up to an $8,000 reward for any leads on the identity of those responsible for the murder, according to WTXL.
“I understand that the community is mourning and is concerned that we have someone amongst us that would do this to one of our children,” Tifton Police chief Steve Hyman told WTXL-TV. “I ask that anyone holding information that could bring an end to this to please come forward. We will keep the community informed as we get more information that can be released.”
Ally’s mom is also hoping for some answers soon.
“She was my baby. My only girl, my best friend. We talked about everything together. She knew everything.”
