“The Book of Yeezus,” yes apparently this is a real thing, is a remixed version of the Book of Genesis where every mention of God is replaced with….you guessed it – YEEZUS. So if you thought God created all, the book says “In the beginning Kanye created the heaven and the earth… And Kanye said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
‘The Book of Yeezus: A Bible for the Modern Day’ is listed for sale on Etsy for $20 and was created by 3 brothers as a novelty coffee-table book, celebrating the grandeur of mega-icon Kanye West.
The book’s creators say that this is no way a stab at Kanye. “ This book wasn’t made to make fun at Kanye, nor to represent an undying devotion for him. Book of Yeezus is simply an exposition. It’s adding an original twist to something ancient and important in order to capture new meaning. We are trying to cast our spotlight towards the way cultural icons have come to be the contemporary spiritual figures in our information culture.” They also say that the cult following behind Kanye (and other celebrities over the generation) is truly a religious experience.
Sounds interesting but personally I know Hell is hot so I won’t be going anywhere near this book, but will you be copping it? For the record, the creators of this book are in no way affiliated with Kanye, his label or anyone who’s ever even met Kanye.
