Tyronn Lue is an NBA head coach again for the Los Angeles Clippers.
According to ESPN’S Adrian Wojnarowski, Lue is in the process of signing a 5-year contract with the Clippers. The veteran coach spent last season on the bench assisting Doc Rivers in LA.
Rivers was fired from the Clippers after a disappointing playoff exit, and now, the organization has tapped Lue as the replacement. From 2015-18, the former NBA point guard spent more than three years as the Cleveland Cavaliers head coach.
In 2016, Lue helped Lebron James and company win three straight games to claim the NBA title.
Lue brings a resume with experience, after working with some of the biggest stars the NBA has to offer to another high-profile job with the Los Angeles Clippers.
He is in charge of a team with plenty of talent in place with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. However, the Los Angeles Clippers have been defined by failure since they have yet to reach the ultimate goal of getting to the Western Conference Finals.
Only time will tell if Lue has what it takes to bring the franchise to the next level.
