Zachery Ty Bryan, the eldest son of Tim Allen on hit show Home Improvement, was arrested Friday evening for strangling his new girlfriend.
Police were called to Bryan’s apartment complex in Eugene, Oregon, when neighbors needed help after an altercation.
Allegedly Bryan, 39, choked his 27-year-old girlfriend after an argument turned physical.
When the victim first tried calling the police, Bryan snatched her phone away. She was then able to escape to a safe place — a friend’s place nearby.
Arrested without incident, Bryan faces three charges, strangulation, fourth-degree assault, and interfering with making a report, Fox News reported. As of Saturday, he is booked in Lane County Jail.
