The FBI says a Miami attorney named Aaron has been arrested in connection with a string of bank robberies in South Florida, according to NBC Miami and other local reports.

Authorities allege he robbed or tried to rob five banks in the area since Sept. 30. He was arrested on Tuesday evening and has been in federal custody since.

According to the criminal complaint affidavit reported by NBC Miami, the suspect would ask a teller for help with a withdrawal and then hand over a handwritten note demanding money and warning the teller not to call the police. He allegedly took the note with him when he left. Coral Gables police said a detective noticed a man matching the robber’s description walking into a bank and the arrest was made without incident.

Aaron, 41, was admitted to the Florida bar in 2008 and has worked at two private firms, according to reports. One firm told CBS Miami that he stopped coming to work one day and never returned.

He was expected to make a first court appearance soon. The charges are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. No response from him was available in the reports at the time.

Coral Gables police said they were glad the arrest was made safely, without injuries to anyone.
