At Least Five Of Mike Pence’s Aides Test Positive For COVID-19

Five of Vice President Mike Pence’s team staff members have tested positive for the coronavirus. Two of those individuals are chief of staff Marc Short, aid Zach Bauer, and Marty Obst, who works as an outside adviser.

According to CNN, there is a worry that there will be additional diagnosis from Pence’s orbit within the next few days. The undisclosed source says the group is “scared.”

What can be seen as alarming is Pence’s refusal to quarantine despite the urging from the Centers for Disease and Controls and the fact that he’s been around those who have confirmed diagnosis.

As for now, the Vice President and his First Lady have tested negative for the virus.

Bauer is known to be around Pence night and day to help with various amount of duties but has not been in the office due to his interactions with Obst. He tested positive Saturday, MSN News reported.

During an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows would not speak on the extent of the outbreak inside Pence’s office but did say Pence will wear a mask and social distance as he travels to campaign.

Meadows feels the public should only be informed when it comes to Donald Trump and Pence, which is why he wouldn’t disclose the others. “Sharing personal information is not something that we should do,” Meadows told CNN’s Jake Tapper.

“Anytime there’s someone in harm’s way, we have an obligation to let people know for contract-tracing,” Meadows said.

A second alarming factor is that Pence is the head of the White House coronavirus task force and is refusing to step aside with the election nearing. He’s firm on continuing his duties to campaign.
