A pregnant Texas mother who went missing earlier this month has been found dead, and her boyfriend has been charged with murder, according to police documents reported by PEOPLE.
Selena, 23, was pregnant with her third child when she went missing on Friday, Oct. 16. On Monday, her body was found in a freezer in the kitchen, wrapped in a blue tarp, at her boyfriend’s home, according to the affidavit.
The boyfriend, William, 39, who is also known by the last name Martinez, allegedly told a friend that he had done something terrible and would go to prison for life, and that her body was inside the freezer, the affidavit states. PEOPLE also reported that he allegedly confessed to his 4 year old daughter that he had killed her mother.
How Selena died was not yet clear pending an autopsy. Police reports state that she had marks on her neck and the left side of her face consistent with being struck and assaulted.
After the body was found Monday, police located William, who allegedly led them on a high speed car chase that ended on foot. He was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder. PEOPLE reported he is being held on $1 million bond in Jones County Jail while he awaits extradition to Tom Green County. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
