Tennessee Mother Dies In Car Accident Shortly After Leaving Murdered Son’s Funeral

Cason Lee Walker

Tragedy has struck a Middle Tennessee family after a Clarksville mother was killed in a car crash hours after leaving her murdered son’s funeral.

Nashville detectives are still looking for answers after 36-year-old JaJuan Clark was found with severe gunshot wounds on Oct. 10 along Hickory Hollow Parkway near the Global Mall. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, which prompted a homicide investigation.

The Tennesse family gathered at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Hermitage, just nine days after Clark’s death to mourn the loss of their loved one. Just hours after, Clark’s family members were involved in a car crash that left one dead and three others hurt.

According to Clarksville Police, their car was driving south on Trenton Rd. near Branson way, and as the two lanes merged into one, the car stayed straight running off the road and hitting a culvert.

Clark’s mother, Cason Lee Walker was pronounced dead at the scene, his brother Jonathan and two teens were rushed to the hospital for their injuries and are listed in stable condition.

The day after the crash, one of the teens told the officers that a vehicle was tailgating them, upsetting Walker. In the police report, the teen said that the vehicle had passed them and then turned around, appearing to start heading towards them in their direction, and that’s when the car crashed. Police say dash camera footage provided by a witness shows headlights traveling south on Trenton Rd. before they disappeared. A Clarksville Police representative tells FOX 17 News that no charges are anticipated in connection to the crash.
