Some of you guys may be to young to remember this so I’ll try to run it down as quickly as possible.Â
In the 90’s, Mark Curry (not Hanging With Mr. Cooper, Mark Curry), was once signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records. He appeared on songs with the Notorious B.I.G and for a quick second he was the man. That was short lived. He never put out his debut album and after a disagreement with Diddy (and personal choices of his own), he ended up off the label. In 2009 he decided to write and promote a tell-all book of his experience titled Dancing with the Devil, How Puff Burned the Bad Boys of Hip- Hop.Â
Fast forward 6 years later. According to Curry he briefly ran into Diddy in Miami and after so much as grazing his shoulder he realized, maybe he shouldn’t have written that book after all. If you have followed Curry over the last few years as he promoted the book, you’ll see why this is such a shocker. “Yo.. I saw Diddy at club Dream last night.. when they was walking in the door.. I was walking out.. I wanted to hang out with them,” tweeted Curry. “I talked to somebody today.. and they told me that I really broke Diddy’s heart when I wrote my book.. said he was really bothered. told me that when I released my book.. Diddy told his security to let God handle me.. we pretty deep.. I know God very well. I’m 43 today.. things that made me mad then.. I’m past it now..”  He went on to say, “People told me to talk to Diddy last night.. to tell him I AM actually sorry and I cared about our friendship more than the book. I do care for Diddy more than I care for my book.. because as a grown man.. I can see where he has helped me.. so I can say I apologize.”
A wise man once said, “Don’t fix your lips like collagen and say something where you’re gonna end up apolog’in” and that couldn’t be closer to the truth. It appears to me that after ripping Diddy’s name apart for years, Diddy’s career is still on an incline and Mark Curry’s likely missing the hand that fed him. Face it, those mansion and yacht parties with endless Ciroc are looking miiiiighty appealing. That, or he realizes that as an adult he should have hashed out his issues with Diddy BEFORE penning a tell-all and going on a nationwide slander tour.Â
Read the rest of the tweets (bottom to top) below.Â
Though Mark Curry says the book wasn’t working and he wants his friend back, he still promotes the book on his social media account….so I’m not sure how sincere he is in his apology. Maybe the book isn’t selling. Maybe he just wanted to party at LIV with Diddy or something.
