A former substitute teacher has pleaded guilty to having sex with two high school students in Alabama.
Whitley Mizzell, 32, worked in the St. Clair County school district before being accused of having sex with two male students in July of 2019. The student’s names have not been released because they were under the age of 19 at the time.
She pleaded guilty on Monday to the charges of three counts of performing a sex act or deviant act with a student, the St. Clair Times reported.
Circuit Court Judge sentenced Mizzell to a ten-year split sentence to run concurrently. According to her plea, she will spend two years behind bars in the Alabama Department of Corrections and then the remaining three years on supervised probation.
She will be required to register as a sex offender, and if she violates probation, she could be sent back to prison to serve the remainder of her sentence.
Following her sentencing, she was taken into custody to begin serving her sentence.
