White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has tested positive for the coronavirus. Prior to the announcement, Meadows was seen at multiple events, not wearing a mask.
According to CNN, on what was supposed to be Trump’s election night victory celebration, Meadows, 61, was also seen sans mask.
Two other members of Trump’s team have also tested positive.
It’s still vague when Meadows tested positive. It wasn’t until after the election on Tuesday that he came forward with the news. The chief of staff has been known to be wary of coronavirus safety measures and, like recently, has often been seen by wearing suggested mask coverings.
He’s likely spreading it around, on Sunday and Monday, Meadows traveled with Trump on Air Force One for his last bit of campaigning at Trump’s headquarters. And let us not forget that election night party. Meadows was seen near Trump’s family members, CNN reports.
With the fate of the election heavily relying on Trump’s legal moves, it seems that Meadows has been heavily involved in the process of saving Trump’s unlikely re-election.
It has been reported that Meadows dialed into a conference call with Trump’s legal team, but it’s unknown if this dial in was due to his positive coronavirus test.
Now that Trump and his team are in a frenzy over the highly likely defeat to Joe Biden, the news of their top aide having coronavirus only adds to the misery.
“As if things weren’t bad enough, now this,” one official said. Others on the team were already skeptical of how Meadows chose to inform people of the coronavirus outbreak in the White House and his requests that officials be tight-lipped about confirmed cases.
