Over 130 traveling Secret Service officers have tested positive for coronavirus. The spread of the infection throughout the White House staffing has lead to the call on a isolation quarantine.
To Trump supporters his anti-mask policy is the law. The consequence of Trump’s failed 2020 Presidential election rallies has now affected 10% of the nation’s core security team. The rallies required five separate groups of Secret Service. The teams of over 20 officers traveled to the following locations. Fayetteville, N.C.; Scranton, Pa.; Traverse City, Mich.; and Kenosha and Grand Rapids, Wis.
A large percentage of members who attend rallies in support of the GOP President now make up the 152,000 new cases of COVID-19 reported Thursday. The infectious spread of the virus involves many high ranking officials, making this a matter of national security. Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Richard Walters and over 8 of his coworkers have been infected. Mark Meadows White House Chief of Staff, Political advisers Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie have also returned with positive test results.
The effect of people infected is believed to have spread as far as Pennsylvania.”The administration is taking every case seriously.”White House spokesman Judd Deere said. The agency working to determine the source of infection which may have started at the White House itself. This means that over 1,300 officers may have been exposed to the virus.
“Being down more than 100 officers is very problematic,” said one former senior Secret Service supervisor.
Trump’s campaign party held in the East Room of the White House consisted of 150 top aides and allies. Since, over 130 White House aides have tested positive for COVID-19. The outbreak has caused a great amount of reasonable fear amongst White House Staff.
“I’m trying to work from home. It’s not really safe to be in there right now.” one senior administration official said Wednesday afternoon.
Several aides have also reported a lack of transparency. Apparently they weren’t properly noticed about the spread of infection inside of their workplace.
