Twenty-six-year-old rapper Lil Uzi Vert could be hanging up his paper and pen after a few more albums. After releasing the joint project Pluto x Baby Pluto with rapper Future on Friday, Lil Uzi took to Twitter to reveal his plans to stop making music, reports stated.
In a now-deleted tweet, Lil Uzi tweeted, “I’m dropping 2 more albums then I’m out.”
Many fans are not surprised by the rapper’s announcement after he stated that he was done with music on Instagram last year. In a caption, he wrote, “I wanna take the time to say thank you to each and every one of my supporters, but I’m done with music. I deleted everything, I wanna be normal … I wanna wake up in 2013.”
A few days later, he posted an Instagram video revealing his reason behind making such a rash decision.
“Y’all talking about drop something,” he said. “I’m trying to drop something. I dropped ‘New Patek.’ That shit ain’t getting leaked. I’ve been tryna drop something new. Bro, this is my life now. All I can do is make music and sit back and wait for y’all response and make visions to this shit. You think I don’t want to drop music? You just got to understand when people don’t love you.”
The talented rapper eventually went back on his statement and released his second studio album Eternal Atake earlier this year.
After releasing his latest album, Lil Uzi suggested having a second full-length collaboration with Future, to be released soon.
