Tory Lanez’s legal team went back to court today after being charged for shooting Megan Thee Stallion and entering a plea of not guilty.
According to TMZ, Lanez’s attorney Shawn Holley appeared in court today on his behalf to enter the plea in this case. Lanez has never appeared in court himself — but was present by phone for his previous court date.
The L.A. County D.A.’s Office the embattled singer with one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and 1 count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The D.A. also alleges Lanez inflicted great bodily injury on Meg in the now infamous shooting incident last July.
Lanez could face up to 22 years and 8 months in prison if he’s convicted. He’s already posted a $190,000 bond and was ordered to stay away from the “Savage” rapper.
During today’s hearing, the state revealed that they were mulling over whether they should go after Tory for possibly violating the protective order with his social media posts and controversial song lyrics aimed at discussing the case and proclaiming his innocence.
Tory’s next hearing is scheduled for Jan. 20, 2021.
