Kyle Rittenhouse, the Illinois teenager, charged with killing two men during the Jacob Blake Protests in Wisconsin this past summer, walked out of jail earlier today after making bail.
According to NBC News, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Wright said in a statement, “Kyle Rittenhouse’s bond was posted this afternoon at about 2:00 pm, which was set up through his attorney.”
“He is no longer in custody at the Kenosha County Jail,” Wright continued.
17-year-old Rittenhouse, from Antioch, Illinois, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, and other charges connected with the shooting deaths of 36-year-old Joseph Rosenblum and 26-year-old Anthony Huber on August 25 in Wisconsin.
The teen has claimed he acted out of self-defense in shooting the unarmed men with his AR-15-style rifle.
