Tyler Perry gave back this year by feeding 5,000 families in the Atlanta area for Thanksgiving.
Thousands of cars lined up to receive boxes of food and gift cards that the filmmaker was giving away Saturday.
In a tweet, Tyler Perry Studios said that it had canned food and $25 gift cards for the first 5,000 families who came to drive through and pick it up.
“First come, first serve of 5,000 families while supplies last,” the studio said. “We wish that we could feed everyone in need.”
The event was called #TPSGiving and saw volunteers in masks and other protective equipment handing out the nonperishable items.
But within two hours, the studio ran out of food, leaving lines of cards stretched out for 5 miles.
This is just the latest way Tyler Perry has shown how generous he is, after paying for groceries in April for shoppers at Winn-Dixie stores in Louisiana and Kroger stores in Atlanta.
